What is health insurance?
Health insurance is insurance against loss by
illness or bodily injury. Health insurance is usually provided as an indemnity
plan or through a managed care program such as an HMO, PPO or POS. Policies
differ in the amount of the deductible and/or co-payment and limits of coverage.
Health insurance provides
coverage for medicine, visits to the doctor or emergency room, hospital stays
and other medical expenses. Individual and family health insurance is a type of
health insurance coverage that is available outside employer groups. Most prefer
to have health insurance covered as an employee benefit by which the company
usually pays at least 50% of the premium in the state of Florida. However, if
you do not have this option you may be interested to know that Florida has a
variety of plans that are affordable and can meet your specific needs.
